A wonderful day shooting with some amazingly talented creatives today shooting the SS16 look book for designer David Longshaw. David is one of the most exciting designers to emerge in the last couple of years. After graduating from Central St Martins and the RCA and stints at Alberta Ferretti and Max Mara, David began his own label in 2013.
It was a wonderful, also, to meet Davids wife, talented designer and jewellery maker Kirsty Ward.
Davids’ designs are beautiful and I look forward to seeing the post production images.
The first of the three shows I worked on this season and it was an epic show. Faustine Steinmetz is an amazing designer who spins, dyes and weaves all her own fabrics. She reproduces iconic pieces by hand and her work is stunning.
I was absolutely honoured to be part of the makeup team, led by the gorgeous, lovely and mega talented makeup maven Lucy J Bridge, of Streeters.
The look Lucy designed was pared back, slept in and texture-lised, echoing the clothing it complemented.
Today I had the pleasure of doing the makeup for a fashion Lookbook. Kited Teddy is an upcoming brand owned by the fab Kite.
I had the absolute joy of working with a wonderful team to create some stunning images. I look forward to the final images.
The photographer, Emma J Lewis, picked the imposing background of St Paul’s cathedral London for the majority for the first series of images where the models were modelling the evening wear.
Later, for the day dresses we moved to Millenium Bridge which provided great views up the river to Tower Bridge.
For the final series we moved to Ave Maria street behind St Paul’s which have some beautiful modern stainless steel sculptures which provided a wonderful visual contrast to the stately Cathederal.
It was so lovely to be in London on a sunny Saturday and I even had a chance to broadcast a live Periscope video during the shoot. Im fairly new too Periscope but do follow me so you get notifications of all broadcasts I make.
